Thank God for you
These are short blogs by members within our church giving personal testimonies relating to what God has done in their family
Gratitude
I’ve not always been grateful to have a younger brother. He would always want to win if
played games and he was never a good loser (although I’m not sure I’m any better). He
would pinch my comics, and we would always have to play cricket on the beach on holiday
because he would get bored.
There were times where he got the blame for things I’d done, because he was always
getting into more trouble than me, and to be honest, I didn’t mind playing cricket on the
beach, even when I was fielding out in the sea!
As we became older and we both moved away from home we lost touch, mum would be the
one who would update me on what he was up to and vice versa. More recently dad has
been the one to do this.
It was last year, just over a year ago that things changed again in our relationship. He was
involved in a motorbike accident which initially looked minor but swiftly became more serious
when it became obvious that he had broken his pelvis and was bleeding internally.
He went into a coma and one by one different systems shut down. I thought we would lose
him.
I am so grateful to all those who prayed for him, from our church family to my dad’s
neighbours and our close friends. He has made an amazing, miraculous recovery and we
now speak regularly. Our relationship has become closer and stronger again and hopefully it
will remain this way.
