Thank God for you

These are short blogs by members within our church giving personal testimonies relating to what God has done in their family

Cath

I am so very thankful to God for my amazing husband David and our two incredible sons Noah and Sid. I thank God for how He has been in every step of our journey from friendship, to getting married to becoming parents. I look back and thank God that He answered my prayers in His timing and with His wisdom even though at the time I may have thought I knew best.
I am thankful to God that He is with me in the every day and in the sleepless nights. He gives me strength and I am so thankful I can call out to Him for guidance, wisdom and forgiveness when I get it wrong.
As we observed Remembrance Sunday recently I reflected on how 2 years ago to the day I was rushed to hospital suffering a miscarriage of what would have been our second child. Sadness and grief followed and I questioned why God let this happen to us but also to many of my friends who’d experienced miscarriages once or sometimes multiple times.
During this time God met me in my pain and I became closer to Him, closer to friends and family and I learnt to trust God more and truly depend on Him. He somehow bought good out of the pain I was suffering.
Exactly a year later, on Remembrance day again, I was rushed to hospital,  this time by David and we got to meet our beautiful son Sid who was born in the hospital car park. I am so thankful for him and how he has made Noah a big brother and completed our family.
I do not understand God’s ways or what He has planned for our future but I know He walks with us through it and that is was I am mostly thankful for.
