These are the things that shape our community and things that we hold dear. As you read below you will get a flavour of why our community is the way we are and why we do things the way we do.
Our Beliefs
We are part of the elim pentecostal movement which comprises over 550 churches in the UK and Ireland. All share a set of beliefs known as our Foundational Truths. Elim's Foundational Truths explain our theology and they are a statement of faith - they are powerful, non-negotiable truths that guide all we say and do
Our vision is to be a church where people flourish, growing in the knowledge and love of God and reaching out in the spirit of generosity.
We want to create a community where people can thrive and be refreshed as they travel through and face life's challenges
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV)
We believe the vision of the church was set by Jesus who is the head of the church over two thousand years ago and that vision still remains the same today. The church is a missional organisation and its mission remains to bring people to know Jesus and develop a lifelong relationship with him. As a local church we believe ‘flourishing’ starts with a relationship with Jesus and that is why we desire to see people flourish
Our Values
The Great Commandment
Our values are a reflection of who we are in Christ and represent how we engage with one another and the world around us and more importantly form the way we do things as a community. Our values come out of the Great Commandment of loving God and loving others.
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself’....” Matthew 22:37-39

Reflecting our uniqueness in Christ whilst accepting one another and blending our individual talents into a colourful environment that enriches and blesses.
“He has taken me to the banqueting table and His banner over me is love”
Song of Songs 2:4
“The wind blows where it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit”
John 3:8
Cultivating a servant's heart that is generous and willing to serve extravagantly.
“Then Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.” John 12:3
Accepting people for who they are - being honest about our strengths and weaknesses. Allowing the Holy Spirit to change us in an environment where genuine friendships can be built
One body, many parts: “The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body…… now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.”
1 Corinthians 12:12 –31
Equipping ourselves with God’s word so we can fully enjoy life as God intended.
God ….. richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment” 1 Timothy 6:17
“All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man or woman of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16
