There is something that all human beings have in common. All human beings who have ever existed, exist now and will exist in the future. We are all sinners and from the day we enter the world we begin the countdown to our death. No human being can escape this and subconsciously all our efforts as human beings is to remedy the impact of sin and avoid death. In truth whilst we have tried to use religion, philosophy and science to remedy sin and death, all we have managed to do is either treat symptoms or delay the inevitable. The Good News of the Christian message is that sin and death have been conquered by Jesus’ life, death and resurrection and now there is a rescue plan that comes from God and available to all people.
“God knows our struggles, our inner demons, and he desires to liberate us. In the end, if we let him, he will set us free from every psychosis and neurosis, every perverse and disordered desire, so that we can grow into the creature he created us to be.” C.S.Lewis
Take the opportunity to thank God for setting us free from the power of sin and death. Celebrate the amazing sacrifice of Jesus Christ on behalf of all human beings.
Pray that our church family and the body of Christ in our community will grasp this amazing truth and live as those set free from the power of sin and death.
Pray that family and friends will come to experience and encounter Jesus saving grace from the power of sin and death and experience life.
Pray for yourself, pray for a deeper understanding of this truth and for the reality of that truth to guide your own faith journey and relationship with God.
No human being wants to live in a prison. We have a desire to be free and that is why people flee from oppressive countries or governments and try to find solace in much freer societies. The truth however is that we can be free physically but still enslave by our habits, fears and outlook. Jesus wants us to be free to be all that God created us to be. Take time to consider what life will feel like if you were not constrained by internal struggles that put limitations on your life.
