‘Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. ‘ Romans 12:2
REFLECT
While “imitation is the best form of flattery,” Paul issues a powerful, timeless warning: there are certain patterns we must not imitate. The command to the Roman church ‘do not copy the customs of this world’ applies directly to us today. This isn’t about condemning society; it’s about being watchful stewards of our behaviour, ensuring our actions consistently and clearly reflect the character of Christ. Our transformation begins with the renewal of our minds, allowing us to see and embrace God’s good, pleasing, and perfect will.
PRAYER FOCUS
Today, pray for the strength to stand apart and for the transformation that brings clarity of purpose.
The Church’s Willingness: Pray that God will grant His entire church a willing and sustained heart to live distinctly in a world that increasingly chooses to ignore Him.
Personal Transformation: Pray for your own strength not to conform, but to deeply experience the radical, ongoing transformation that comes through the work of the Holy Spirit changing the way you think and live.
Shifting the Atmosphere: Pray that the world around you will begin to shift toward the light of Jesus, and that the power and influence of darkness will be diminished, giving way to God’s reign.
