I am grateful to God for the small things and for the big things in my life, although I’m sure God doesn’t categorise them like that! The small things are the ‘daily breads’ of each 24hrs. Sometimes, when I thank God for these, I wonder if He gets tired of hearing my appreciation of the food I’ve eaten or the people I’ve mixed with during the day, but then I’m reminded of the Bible verses that speak of God’s attention to detail – my personal details, how that each hair is numbered and of His knowledge of me, even before I was born. God’s ability to micro-focus is mind-blowing but I need to trust in His supreme oversight and know that He has the best intentions for me.
I can remember when our girls were little – they would write notes in my birthday cards that were straight from their hearts, uncomplicated, grateful notes, written with love. God is my Heavenly Father and surely He delights in my continual, simple appreciation of my life on earth. If I loose sight of that personal relationship then I miss the everyday joy of seeing Him at work.

Thank you Lord.
