Before I had my daughter, I had witnessed God’s hand move in my life many times, but this experience was uniquely personal and sacred. It felt as if I was engaged in an actual conversation with God, who leaned in to hear the deepest cries of my heart. Though my husband and I had agreed that our family was complete, a still, small voice began to whisper to me that another child was in our future. Initially, I dismissed it as mere imagination, but the voice persisted. One day, as I knelt in my bedroom, I prayed, “Lord, if this is truly You speaking, please confirm it. I don’t want to doubt Your voice.”On the first day of a three-day fast, God directed me to John 16:24: “Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask, and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.” I embraced that promise and placed my trust in Him. Nine months later, God fulfilled that promise by blessing us with our beautiful daughter, Avianna, whose name means “my Father answered.” She serves as my daily reminder that God hears, God speaks, and God still performs miracles.
