Mark in his gospel tells us of the person and work of Jesus Christ. He is quick to help his readers understand that the messiah has authority and his early reflection of Jesus is to establish him as a man of authority. Mark wrote to help followers of Jesus grow in their faith and know and understand what it means to be a follower of Jesus. He also wanted those who do not yet know Jesus to see that Jesus is the long awaited messiah.
