Thank God for you
These are short blogs by members within our church giving personal testimonies relating to what God has done in their family
Sally-Ann & Kim
I am writing this on behalf of my sister Kim and I. We wanted to share how grateful we are for answered prayer for our mum. She died a few years ago.
In the last years of her life she developed dementia. Although she remembered who we were she was unable to care for herself and along with our stepdad the difficult decision was made to place her in a nursing home.
She was very confused and we were not able to have any kind of conversation with her. It soon became clear that she did not have much time left to be with us. Kim and I were very concerned about where mum would be spending eternity but because of her confusion we did not know how we could share Jesus with her.
A friend of mine had prayed that we would have 1 hour where mum would be lucid and able to talk with us. One afternoon when we were both visiting her together that 1 hour happened! We were able to share how much Jesus loved her and what He had done for her on the cross and that she could have the promise of spending eternity with him. We had the wonderful privilege of leading her in prayer to accept Jesus. After we prayed Kim asked mum if she would like to thank Jesus for what He had done. I will never forget the look on her face as she prayed and thanked Jesus for saving her. That one hour was all it took – one month later she went to be with her Saviour.
Praise the Lord! God is good! Never give up even when the situation looks hopeless. Keep on praying for your family members. Miracles do still happen!
Love
