PRAYER and FASTING
9am - 12 noon | Session Two
WONDERFUL COUNSELLOR
For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:7
REFLECTION
It is an incredible privilege to have Jesus in our lives. When we stop and comprehend who Jesus is and still continues to be, we can really say we are the most blessed of people to have him in our lives. So many people in our community today will fall in love with Jesus if they truly know who he is. In truth, that is a privilege conferred on us, to be a presentative of Jesus and reflect him so that others can know him. Everyday we can take our needs to Jesus and he will listen and guide us into life changing truth.
QUOTES
“What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear. What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer! Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged. Take it to the Lord in prayer.”
Hymn by Joseph Medlicott Scriven (1855)
PRAYER
In this session we want to remember all the challenges, questions, needs and worries we have for our church, communities, families, friends, and for ourselves and make the most of our friendship with Jesus and bring those needs before him and take time to listen to what he says and how he guides.
MEDITATE
You keep track of all my sorrows.
You have collected all my tears in your bottle.
You have recorded each one in your book. Psalm 56:8
Take time to ponder on this truth and ask questions of it whilst letting God speak to you.
