FAITH IN THE SACRIFICE OF JESUS

REFLECTION
In a western society that desperately champions inclusiveness, we can easily seek to mirror that in our faith and come to the conclusion that in our faith the sacrifice of Jesus does not have universal reach but simply for Christians and those who believe it. One of the challenges we face today is deciding whether our faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is a universal truth. Is it for all people, at all times and in all places or does it have a limited reach. What we decide will determine our relationship with that truth, how we engage with it and also how we apply that truth to those in our sphere of influence.

PRAYER
In this session we want to pray that God’s Holy Spirit will deepen our understanding of the sacrifice of Jesus and help us understand it from the perspective of heaven. Pray that the grace of Jesus’ sacrifice will impact your life and you will come to understand the full reach of Jesus’ sacrifice for those you love and care for.
Pray also that the body of Christ in Worthing and in our nation’s churches will come to understand the depth of Jesus’ sacrifice and that knowledge will guide all its action and engagement with the world around it.
