5 DAYS OF PRAYER & FASTING
DAY 5
STAND YOUR GROUND TO WIN
Pause & Reflect
Giants expect people to run away from them. Their number one ammunition is to induce fear in others so out of sheer panic they overwhelm your ability to make good, rational and godly decisions.
In our story David the shepherd boy turns the table on the giant and does the exact opposite. He comes before the giants and walks towards him without a sword or shield. When the giant shouts defiance at him David uses God’s word against him, when the giant tells him what is going to happen David counteracts by telling the giant what God will do and rather than back down actually starts running towards the giant.
If we decide to stand our ground rather than panic when we face giants, if we counteract its threat with God’s word and simply stand our ground and move towards rather than away from our giants then we’ll discover the truth that David showed us, the bigger they come the more glory to God. David we see holds his ground and defeats the giant. As Goliath moved closer to attack, David quickly ran out to meet him. Reaching into his shepherd’s bag and taking out a stone, he hurled it with his sling and hit the Philistine in the forehead. The stone sank in, and Goliath stumbled and fell face down on the ground. 1 Samuel 17:48-49
