Day 6 : REST FOR THE SOUL

This verse carries a profound warning: do not miss out on the most essential ingredient for your life’s journey. God was calling His people back to the basics: salvation and strength found only in relationship and worship, and resting in His goodness. In a competitive world defined by noise, hustle, and the pressure to outdo others, God offers a transformative alternative. He provides a quietness that comes directly from being in His presence—a quietness that organically matures into confidence in God. The Father’s concern was that His people would refuse this simple gift and, consequently, miss out on true blessedness and rest.

Day 5 : STRENGTH FROM THE HOLY SPIRIT

God delights in refreshing His people, and the abundant life promised through Jesus is rooted in this renewal. It is easy to fall into the trap of wanting the rewards (soaring, running, walking without fainting) without embracing the condition of the reward: TRUST. It is when we cease relying on our own fragile abilities and instead lean completely on God that the supernatural wellspring of new strength is unlocked, enabling us to truly soar.

Day 4 : ALIGNING WITH THE WORD AND WILL OF GOD

While “imitation is the best form of flattery,” Paul issues a powerful, timeless warning: there are certain patterns we must not imitate. The command to the Roman church ‘do not copy the customs of this world’ applies directly to us today. This isn’t about condemning society; it’s about being watchful stewards of our behaviour, ensuring our actions consistently and clearly reflect the character of Christ. Our transformation begins with the renewal of our minds, allowing us to see and embrace God’s good, pleasing, and perfect will.

Day 3 : GOD’s LOVE AND FAITHFULNESS

In a world defined by change, instability, and temporal relationships, it is a profound comfort to anchor our lives in a love that is constant and eternal. God’s unwavering love and daily renewed mercies provide the unshakeable grace we need to continue to trust Him and respond prayerfully to the volatile, changing nature of our world.

Day 2 : THE PURSUIT OF A CLEAN HEART

God’s priority has always been who we are over what we do. As Paul warned the Corinthians, ministry driven by performance but lacking inner love and holiness becomes nothing more than a “clanging cymbal and a resounding gong.” Our performance can never substitute for purity. God desires His people to reflect His nature—to be holy and undivided in spirit.

Cath

I am so very thankful to God for my amazing husband David and our two incredible sons Noah and Sid. I thank God for how He has been in every step of our journey from friendship, to getting married to becoming parents.

Family and being grateful for the downs as well as the ups.

The saying you can choose your friends but you can’t choose your family, makes us laugh, because there is a ring of truth to it.

Sharon

I’ve not always been grateful to have a younger brother. He would always want to win if played games and he was never a good loser (although I’m not sure I’m any better).

Sally-Ann & Kim
