For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are.
Romans 8:19 NLT
We’re so excited to invite you to join us for a special Five Days of Prayer and Fasting! This is an opportunity for all of us to intentionally seek God and experience a deeper revelation of His love and purpose.
Our heartfelt prayer for our church community as we enter these five days is echoed in the profound words of John the Baptist concerning the emergence of Jesus Christ: “I will decrease and Jesus will increase.” In a world constantly pushing us to focus on ourselves, Jesus invites us to decrease so that more of Him can shine through our lives. We hope you encounter Jesus anew as we journey through this prayer time.
The book of Daniel speaks of a challenging time when a reckless and violent king would rise against God’s people, desecrating the sanctuary and halting daily sacrifices. Yet, amidst this, it declares a profound truth: “The people who know their God will be strong and will resist him.” As the King James Version powerfully puts it, “those who know their God will be strong and do exploits.”
This timeless truth reminds us that our identity is absolutely crucial in our journey with God and with those around us. When we truly understand who we are and our inherent worth – especially our identity from God’s perspective and in relation to who God is – we discover a beautiful sense of equilibrium in life. It’s a solid ground to stand on, even when life throws its toughest challenges our way.
During these five dedicated days, we want to dive deep into prayer, we want to experience God’s truth in a personal way, grow in our understanding of God’s nature and experience growth in our relationship with God.
Our desire is for the eyes of our hearts to be opened, allowing us to clearly see all that God has placed within us and courageously step into it.
The saying “the devil is in the details” often highlights where challenges lie, but let’s reframe it. Instead of focusing on potential pitfalls, let’s recognize that God’s power often unfolds in the seemingly small acts of faithfulness.
King Solomon, in his wisdom, urged us to “Catch all the foxes, those little foxes, before they ruin the vineyard of love, for the grapevines are blossoming!” This beautiful imagery reminds us that even minor oversights can derail a powerful purpose. As we embark on this five-day journey of prayer and fasting, let’s be mindful of the “little things” that can disrupt our plans and let’s intentionally make preparations that pave the way for something extraordinary.
At the very heart of these five days lies unity.
Indeed, one profound reason we gather in collective prayer, rather than just praying individually, is because God pours out His richest blessings when His people come together in harmony.
It’s far too easy to diminish our own value, whispering thoughts like, “My prayer doesn’t really matter”; “My involvement isn’t truly needed”; “Nothing significant will happen if I pray, and no one will even notice if I don’t”. These thoughts, whether conscious or revealed by our actions, are precisely what the enemy of prayer wants to take root in our hearts – But here’s a truth to hold onto:
So, as we prepare for this dedicated time of prayer and fasting, let’s consider: How can you wholeheartedly engage?
What specific steps do you need to take to truly encounter heaven’s heart for both you and the community God has strategically placed around you?
Could your unique involvement be the very piece that elevates our collective journey to the next level of what God desires to do in us and through us?
So, buckle up! Let’s embark on this powerful journey together, with hearts full of expectation. We just might be profoundly amazed and pleasantly surprised by what God accomplishes in and through us all!
